The last place Soldiers from the Kentucky National Guard ever thought they would be is on the Comoros Islands (officially called Union of the Comoros) off the coast of Eastern Africa. U.S. Soldiers prepare Kenyan army to teach counter-IED procedures

Joint Civil Affairs Team Helps Rebuild Children’s School in Comoros

CHOMONI, Comoros (January 29, 2011) - The children of Chomoni, Comoros, once had a broken building of a school with holes in the walls, corroded interiors and desks with jagged edges.

In the first week of 2011, the Joint Civil Affairs Team (JCAT) 101 from the Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa undertook a project to rebuild the Chomoni Primary School for Children with the help of the townspeople.
