U.S. Marine Corps members with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, USS Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, are transported to shore via Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC), Dec. 7, 2016, at Arta Plage, Djibouti. A MEU is a quick response force, which consists of Sailors and Marines on standby for immediate crisis response across the globe.
