Everyone a Sensor: USAFE Commander Discusses Sensitive Topic at Airman's Call

U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa Commander, Gen. Philip M. Breedlove, visited Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Nov. 21-22, 2012, to meet with Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa leaders and Airmen.

While visiting, Breedlove hosted an Airman's call to discuss deployments and the CJTF-HOA mission.

Camp Lemonnier Personnel Integrate, Enhance Security Efforts

U.S. Navy and Air Force personnel at Camp Lemonnier integrated their security forces into one cohesive unit July 1.

The overall purpose of this integration was to enhance security efforts on camp. Before the integration, the two branches had separate areas of security responsibility, which presented a few challenges.

3rd Air Force Commander Visits Camp Lemonnier

U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Craig A. Franklin, 3rd Air Force commander, visited airmen assigned to Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa and other U.S. Air Force assets here June 25-26.

The mission of 3rd Air Force is to plan, deploy, employ, sustain and redeploy airmen supporting combatant commanders in Africa and Europe.

While here, the general met with CJTF-HOA Commander, U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Rob Baker, and toured several Air Force tenant units located at Camp Lemonnier. He a

US Air Force Colonel Dean Lee Takes Command of 449th AEG

U.S. Air Force Colonel Dean Lee assumed command of the 449th Air Expeditionary Group in a change of command ceremony here March 15.

Lee assumed command from U.S. Air Force Colonel David Barnes upon his reassignment to the 603rd Air and Space Operations Center, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, as the deputy commander.

During his induction speech, Lee said he has three goals he wants to accomplish as 449th commander.
