A Civil Affair (Part 1)

An actor in the ARMY??? Staff Sgt. Greg Williams, an actor and U.S. Army reservist, uses his civilian experience to augment the mission of the 411th Civil Affairs Battalion in the Horn of Africa. In cooperation with the International Development and Relief Board, he created a video series to help promote best practices for livestock care and treatment in Djibouti - enhancing economic sustainment for the country.

CJTF-HOA service members learn about humanitarian relief operations

"If you wear a U.S. military uniform long enough, it's not about if but when you will perform support for a humanitarian operation," said Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Brig. Gen. William Zana. Nearly 100 CJTF-HOA and Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, service members completed a Joint Humanitarian Operations Course conducted by the U.S. Agency for International Development last week, better equipping them for humanitarian operations.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson Visits Djibouti

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson visited with CJTF-HOA personnel on his stop in Djibouti, as part of his tour through Africa. Secretary Tillerson traveled to Djibouti to discuss the U.S.-Djiboutian partnership, and exchanged views on bilateral concerns, security threats, and economic reforms. CJTF-HOA hosts US, Japanese Ambassadors to Djibouti

CJTF-HOA works alongside and builds partnerships with our U.S. and international partners to improve security and stabilization in East Africa. The U.S. and Japanese ambassadors to Djibouti visited Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti and discussed this strong partnership with our Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Brig. Gen. William Zana.

CJTF-HOA Civil Affairs Promotes Partnerships, Peace, Through CIMIC Training

Five U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 404th Civil Affairs (CA) Company, 407th CA Battalion, attached to the Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), are currently forward deployed to Camp Singo, Uganda, to advise and assist in the training of the first tactical Civil Affairs Company within the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF).
