Earlier this month, service members assigned to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa participated in Alligator Dagger. Alligator Dagger, led by Naval Amphibious Force, Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade is a dedicated, bilateral combat rehearsal that combines U.S. and French forces to practice, rehearse and exercise integrated capabilities available to U.S. Central Command both afloat and ashore.

More then 250 U.S. service members onboard Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, Africa, joined approximately 2,500 military and civilian runners at the 35th annual 15K Grand Bara Race in the Grand Bara desert, Dec. 14th, 2017. Delegates from France, Djibouti, U.S., China, Italy, Spain and others participated in the race hosted by the Djiboutian government and French military.

Last week, more than 50 U.S. service members finished the final stage to earn the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge with a ruck march - a hike, in uniform, carrying up to 50 extra pounds of gear. The Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen marched for 6, 9, or 12 kilometers earning a bronze, silver or gold version of the badge, respectively.
