COVID-19 vaccine arrives at Camp Lemonnier Djibouti

The COVID-19 vaccine arrives at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Feb. 25, 2021. Service members with the Expeditionary Medical Facility (EMF), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution, and Air Transportation Operations Center oversee the transfer of medical equipment and 600 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft to EMF. The vaccine must be quickly transported to maintain the proper temperature at minus 25 C to minus 15 C in order to be kept in a frozen state. Medical personnel will administer the doses within 48 hours of the shipment's arrival.

Female Soldiers conquer French Desert Commando Course

Throughout the year, the French Forces in Djibouti offer an opportunity for U.S. and Djiboutian service members to train with their counterparts at the French Desert Commando Course (FDCC). Americans work alongside the French and Djiboutians to conquer events such obstacle courses, ruck marches through the mountains and combatives training.
