The U.S. Marine Corps is arguably one of the most revered institutions within the U.S. Department of Defense. So, when Combined Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) leadership recently welcomed members of the Djibouti Armed Forces (FAD) into the U.S. Marine Corps Corporals Course, it was a distinct honor.
The Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa’s 443rd Civil Affairs Battalion (CAB) Functional Specialty Group (FXSP) veterinarians spayed, dewormed and immunized the cats of Caritas Djibouti here, Aug 30.
Around 200 service members assigned to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa and Camp Lemonnier proved their strength by competing in the 2020 Grand Bara Race, January 15th in the Grand Bara Desert, Djibouti.
Within hours of being notified, CJTF-HOA’s East Africa Response Force prepared dozens of Soldiers and tons of supplies for takeoff during an emergency response exercise, validating the EARF’s rapid response capabilities.
The U.S. Ambassador to Djibouti, Larry André, hosted the annual National Day celebration at his residence in Djibouti City, Djibouti, Feb. 11, 2020. The event commemorates the 244th year of U.S. independence and is typically held each spring to avoid the summer heat. Military personnel from Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), Camp Lemonnier Djibouti (CLDJ), coalition partners, guests, and U.S. Embassy staff attended the celebration.
