Africa First Information Day in Djibouti

Djiboutian business owners speak with members of Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa, Camp Lemonnier and U.S. Africa Command at an Information Day event for the Djiboutian business community in collaboration with the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce, and the United States Embassy of Djibouti, Mar. 28, 2018. The event provided an opportunity for participants to have discussions on topics covering the opportunities ahead for Djiboutian firms under the Africa First initiative. Guest speakers included the U.S. Ambassador to Djibouti, Larry Andre; Camp Lemonnier Commanding Officer, Capt. Nancy S. Lacore; and Djibouti Chamber of Commerce President, Youssouf Moussa Dawaleh.

U.S. Discussion Groups strengthen English language skills in Djibouti
After three months of guided conversation, 25 participants completed the latest U.S.-led English Discussion Group (EDG), and attended a culmination celebration at the National Institute of Public Administration training center in Djibouti, Oct. 13, 2021. The conversations are designed to increase the participants' confidence and competency in the English language to help them in their professional lives.

Air transportation specialists with the 475th Expeditionary Air Base Squadron (EABS) load cargo onto a C-130 Hercules on the flight line at Camp Simba, Kenya, Aug. 22, 2021. Air transportation specialists with the 475th EABS coordinated shipment of food, medical supplies and equipment between Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, and Camp Simba. Air transportation specialists manage military aircraft cargo and passengers, ensuring bases worldwide are equipped with necessary resources to continue mission operations.
