Africa First Information Day in Djibouti

Djiboutian business owners speak with members of Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa, Camp Lemonnier and U.S. Africa Command at an Information Day event for the Djiboutian business community in collaboration with the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce, and the United States Embassy of Djibouti, Mar. 28, 2018. The event provided an opportunity for participants to have discussions on topics covering the opportunities ahead for Djiboutian firms under the Africa First initiative. Guest speakers included the U.S. Ambassador to Djibouti, Larry Andre; Camp Lemonnier Commanding Officer, Capt. Nancy S. Lacore; and Djibouti Chamber of Commerce President, Youssouf Moussa Dawaleh.

Humans of HOA:Vehicle management plays a vital role in CJTF-HOA operations
I joined the U.S. Army at 18 years old, straight out of high school. In fact, I enlisted while I was still a senior. My decision was driven by more than a sense of duty — it was deeply personal. Fast forward to today, I am proudly serving my country overseas with the Arizona Army National Guard. I am in an administrative role for the Transportation Motor Pool unit, which is in charge of managing a large fleet of vehicles, most of which are sourced from local Djiboutian contractors.
