Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa Image

MOGADISHU, Somalia- Representatives from United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime gather with exercise leads to conduct a Somali Police Force Maritime Police Unit exercise to demonstrate capabilities with its two new vessels, Aug. 25, 2016, in Mogadishu, Somalia. The boat teams demonstrated interdiction operations to representatives from approximately seven countries involved in improving security and stability in Somalia, by capturing a mock hostile boat with exercise participants. Lapse In Appropriations
The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
