Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa Image

Royal Canadian Navy Commodore Haydn Edmundson, P-Commander, meets with U.S. Army Major Gen. Kurt Sonntag, Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa commander, while visiting Camp Lemonnier Nov. 28, 2016. Commodore Edmundson will take command of Combined Task Force 150 (CTF-150) Dec. 16, 2016. Re-established post 9/11, CTF-150 is a 25-nation coalition naval task force coordinated by the Combined Maritime Forces based in Manama, Bahrain. Its main functions are to monitor, inspect, board and stop suspect shipping and terrorism in the Horn of Africa.
