U.S. military and Department of State officials meet with Somalia President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed in Mogadishu, Somalia, Oct. 12, 2017. Topics of interest covered during the meeting included U.S. and Somali national interests in the region and opportunities to strengthen the Somali National Security Forces, particularly as the African Union mission in Somalia troops transition out of the security role in coming years. Attendees of the meeting included Martin Dale, the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Mission to Somalia, U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Thomas Waldhauser, U.S. Africa Command commander, U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Humans of HOA:Vehicle management plays a vital role in CJTF-HOA operations
I joined the U.S. Army at 18 years old, straight out of high school. In fact, I enlisted while I was still a senior. My decision was driven by more than a sense of duty — it was deeply personal. Fast forward to today, I am proudly serving my country overseas with the Arizona Army National Guard. I am in an administrative role for the Transportation Motor Pool unit, which is in charge of managing a large fleet of vehicles, most of which are sourced from local Djiboutian contractors.
