71st Air Force Birthday Celebration

U.S. service members and distinguished guests gathered together with Airmen with the 449th Air Expeditionary Group and Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa to celebrate the U.S. Air Force’s 71st birthday on Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Sept. 18, 2018. The birthday celebration was part of a combat dining out, giving Airmen an opportunity to build morale and esprit de corps with their fellow deployed service members. Lapse In Appropriations
The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
