U.S. Navy Seabees turn over Ali Oune Medical Clinic to Djiboutian officials

Djiboutian citizens greet military leaders during the Ali Oune Medical Clinic ribbon cutting ceremony in Ali Oune, Djibouti, Jan. 31, 2019. The clinic, which the U.S. Navy Seabees from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 1, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, have been working to complete for five months, is intended to enhance the Ministry of Health for Djibouti’s ability to provide basic medical, birth and after care to the Ali Oune village and its more than 1,000 residents and rural neighbors. Humans of HOA:Vehicle management plays a vital role in CJTF-HOA operations
I joined the U.S. Army at 18 years old, straight out of high school. In fact, I enlisted while I was still a senior. My decision was driven by more than a sense of duty — it was deeply personal. Fast forward to today, I am proudly serving my country overseas with the Arizona Army National Guard. I am in an administrative role for the Transportation Motor Pool unit, which is in charge of managing a large fleet of vehicles, most of which are sourced from local Djiboutian contractors.
