CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti-- Service members deployed to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) welcomed their new commander during a change of command ceremony, June 14. U.S. Army Brig. Gen. William Zana, outgoing commander of CJTF-HOA transferred responsibility to Brig. Gen. James Craig. U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Thomas Waldhauser, commander of United States Africa Command, presided over the ceremony.

Camp Lemonnier, DJIBOUTI- Leadership for Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa changed hands during a transfer of authority ceremony, May 1. U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. David Furness, commander of CJTF-HOA transferred responsibility to U.S. Army Brig. Gen. William Zana, deputy commander of CJTF-HOA. The transfer of authority was presided over by U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Thomas Waldhauser, commander of United States Africa Command.

Djiboutian business owners speak with members of Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa, Camp Lemonnier and U.S. Africa Command at an Information Day event for the Djiboutian business community in collaboration with the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce, and the United States Embassy of Djibouti, Mar. 28, 2018. The event provided an opportunity for participants to have discussions on topics covering the opportunities ahead for Djiboutian firms under the Africa First initiative. Guest speakers included the U.S. Ambassador to Djibouti, Larry Andre; Camp Lemonnier Commanding Officer, Capt. Nancy S. Lacore; and Djibouti Chamber of Commerce President, Youssouf Moussa Dawaleh.

CJTF-HOA service members learn about humanitarian relief operations

"If you wear a U.S. military uniform long enough, it's not about if but when you will perform support for a humanitarian operation," said Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Brig. CJTF-HOA Civil Affairs Promotes Partnerships, Peace, Through CIMIC Training
