The aid is being delivered to the Somali people following a devastating terrorist attack that killed and injured hundreds in Mogadishu on Oct. 14. Working with the Federal Government of Somalia, the U.S. Mission to Somalia immediately arranged for the air shipment. On a Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa mission, the C-130 carried several pallets of medical equipment and supplies. The United States will continue to stand with the Somali government, its people, and international allies to combat terrorism and support efforts to achieve peace, security and prosperity. Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa hosted a noncombatant evacuation operation (NEO) exercise to share best practices with the Japanese military located in Djibouti, Africa, Sept. 27 - 19, 2017. The exercise included military representation from French and Italian partner nations. During the mulit-day event, CJTF-HOA conducted table-top exercises, a combat lifesaver course and force protection discussion along with the NEO on Camp Lemonier, Djibouti, Africa.

Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa , along with members of the French and Italian militaries, conducted the first multilateral noncombatant evacuation operation exercise and training for the Japan at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Africa, Sept. 29, 2017. Along with participating in the loading of a Japanese light armored vehicle into a C-130 Hercules aircraft, participatns were involved in breakout sessions that included convoy and force protection procedure; seld-aid and buddy care; capabilities and assest assessments. U.S., Japanese, French, Italian militaries partner for first multilateral NEO exercise in Africa
Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa , along with members of the French and Italian militaries, conducted the first multilateral noncombatant evacuation operation exercise and training for the Japan at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Africa, Sept. 29, 2017. Along with participating in the loading of a Japanese light armored vehicle into a C-130 Hercules aircraft, participatns were involved in breakout sessions that included convoy and force protection procedure; seld-aid and buddy care; capabilities and assest assessments. During the mulit-day event, CJTF-HOA conducted table-top exercises, a combat lifesaver course and force protection discussion along with the NEO on Camp Lemonier, Djibouti, Africa.

CJTF-HOA supports CENTCOM’s Alligator Dagger exercise
U.S. Marines from the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit convoy troops and supplies during Alligator Dagger – a two-week exercise that prepares incoming Naval Amphibious Forces, Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Unit's Amphibious Ready Group/Marine Expeditionary Unit teams to integrate and synchronize warfighting capabilities in the U.S. Central Command's area of operations. Approximately 2,000 Sailors and Marines from the America-class amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), the command ship for Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 3; USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52); USS San Diego (LPD 22); USS Lewis B. Puller (ESB 3); Battalion Landing Team 1/5; Aviation Combat Element VMM-161 (reinforced) and the Logistics Combat Element CLB-15 are participating in the third iteration of this exercise.
