The bilateral jump is in honor of the 73rd anniversary of D-Day, and also celebrates the continued partnership of allied forces. French Forces Djibouti provided a Transall C-160 tactical transport aircraft using French parachutes and French jumpmasters, and all who jumped earned French jump wings. A drum beat, popping from the blithe yet powerful cajon, was cooled by the plucked strings of the upright base.
